I’m wondering if the Yamaha keyboards YPT-210/YPT-310 will work properly with Propellerhead reason which is a music creation/mixing program. They both have MIDI outputs that will allow you to connect to a pc but im not entirely sure if they will be detected/make the sounds the program gives it. Will i have to purchase a synth focused keyboard to have it function correctly with the program. Since the YPT’s are entry-level keyboards. Please help me I dont want to purchase the keyboard and find out it doesnt work in the ways i need it to.
Thank you

I would like to purchase a keyboard or electronic piano and I am currently living in Europe. But I want to be sure I can then use it when I return to the US. Many electronics (Apple iMac for instance) have converters that allow them to switch, no issue. Does anyone have any info about whether or not this is possible for electronic keyboards? Thanks!

People are telling me to get it with weighted keys..so I’ll do that, but what are weighted keys?
And how many keys do you think should be on my keyboard?
And someone else told me Y!A, that I should get one with 7 octaves.. if I want to play like a real piano.. so what else?

And if you have any great yamaha keyboards out there, show me them !

I want to buy a yamaha keyboard, but i was wondering if anyone knew if they had a sustain mode. i dont want a foot pedal.. on my old keyboard theres a button you press that makes every note you play sustain. do the new modern yamahas have a mode like this?? like a type of ‘voice’ as they call it or in the sound effects? or is it just the foot pedal that will make a note sustain?

thank you =)
i actually have a sustain button on my keyboard now and i absolutely love it..i cant play without it. it sounds so beautiful. it sustains it jsut long enough so that it never sounds mushed together. with the pedal you have to constantly press it up and down which is tedious, though i love to do that with my piano, just not with a keyboard. plus pedals are like 30$ extra.
