I use to take lessons a few years ago, but then i stopped…now that im a lot older, and my hands are all rusted up, i want to learn to play again…is there a way to teach myself the piano without actually taking lessons? I wanna learn to play by ear but my teacher never thought that much. List composers. Well just say anything that might help someone that wants to learn and has some experience. Where can i find sheet music for free? Ill play anything from baroque to post-modern. Is there a place to learn piano theory online? It would be nice to understand stuff that i would play. Also, im just curious but, do they offer piano in college?

Go to your local library. Look in their music section and you will be amazed at what you will find.

Tell them what you are looking for and they can help you.

    Good Luck

you could go to about.com or google “free piano lessons” but learning that type of music by ear is really REALLY hard and WAY too close to impossible unless u are SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER talented with music… i suggest that u learn to play improv **it’s WAY more fun** i play both… learning from a real teacher and taking “lessons” from a friend with some massive skill in improv… as for the sheet music google “free piano sheet music” or “mr. piano free sheet music” * i know it sounds funny haha* … of COURSE they offer piano… idk the details cause i’m a sophmore, but i DO know u can take a beginner’s course in music
